Upskilling HVAC Technicians
for Europe’s Energy Transition

Standardized training and micro-credentials for heat pump installation and maintenance across the EU.

The PUMP-UP project develops standardized training resources for the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) sector across the EU, focusing on heat pump technologies. Through transnational cooperation, it ensures alignment with EU regulations and supports consistent, high-quality training at the national level.

Objectives

The project aims to enhance skills in heat pump installation and maintenance, provide adaptable training materials, support VET providers, and introduce a micro-credentials scheme to recognize acquired competencies.

Target Groups

HVAC technicians—both trainees and experienced professionals—along with VET providers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.

Activities

RENAC leads partnership efforts of heat pump skills requirements and provides specifications for an EU wide qualification for HVAC technicians. Moreover, it is leading the projects dissemination efforts.
